News round-up: New Lexus RC-F and Seat upgrade packs available

The Lexus RC-F sports car is available to order now, with prices starting from £59,995. First UK deliveries are expected in January 2015.

The RC-F, which was unveiled at the Detroit motor show in January, and appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer, is set to compete with the likes of the new BMW M4.

Using technology taken from the LFA hypercar, the RC-F will be available in two guises in the UK - the RC-F and the more expensive RC-F Carbon, priced at £67,995.

Both versions are powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 engine, described as the most powerful production unit of its type that Lexus has ever built; it develops 450bhp and 384lb ft of pulling power. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Seat has launched a special-edition package called i-Tech, which will be available on its Mii, Ibiza, Toledo, Altea and Alhambra model ranges.

The exact package varies from model to model, but all i-Tech editions will feature titanium-finish alloy wheels as well as i-Tech badging and detailing throughout.

Seat says the pack will save buyers up to £480 on equipment upgrades, compared to purchasing the equivalent items individually.

Specific items vary according to the model, but include features such as front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, Hill Hold Control, Bluetooth, DAB radio and satellite-navigation.

Leon Cupra 280

Seat has also confirmed prices for a series of new upgrades that are available to order on its Leon Cupra 280.

The SUB8 Performance Pack costs £2025 and brings upgraded brakes with larger discs and Brembo four-piston callipers, plus specially designed 19-inch alloy wheels finished in either black or orange. For a further £460 Seat will fit Michelin semi-slick tyres.

Also on offer is a Cupra Black-Line or White-Line package, at a cost of £500. Upgrades are black- or white-painted 19-inch Cupra alloy wheels, door mirror casings, rear Cupra badges and front grille surround. Whichever colour you choose, you will also get black rear side spoilers. On the same theme, an Orange-Line option will be available to order from December.

Finally, for an extra £1250, Seat will fit one-piece Cupra bucket seats, trimmed in black Alcantara with white accents and Cupra logos. The price also includes a winter package that adds heated front seats, headlight washers and heated front washer nozzles.
