Nissan charges 5k for new battery for Leaf

Nissan Leaf owners will need to spend Β£4920 to replace their car's battery should it fail outside warranty.

All Leafs have a five-year, 60,000-mile warranty against battery capacity failure.

The battery replacement includes a Β£1000 rebate for the old battery. The total price the owner will pay is Β£4920.

Nissan has reported that of the 30,000 Leafs sold across Europe, just three batteries have been replaced.

All Leafs sold in the UK are still within warranty.
