Nissan extends its trade-in scheme

Nissan is extending its British-built Trade-in scheme to cars that are more than seven years old.
In the past, the offer was open only to models between eight and 10 years old.
The revised scheme will run from the beginning of April to the end of June, and applies to cars registered on or before 31 August 2003.
However, the car being 'swapped' needs a current MoT, and to have been owned by its present keeper for at least a year.
British-built cars only
Nissan will guarantee a minimum trade-in of 2000 against any of its new British-built models, which include the Micra, Note, Qashqai and Qashqai+2.
Nissan sold 15,840 vehicles through the Government scrappage scheme 81% of which were built in Sunderland as well as 10,944 vehicles through its British-built scheme.
Nissan GB managing director Paul Willcox said: There's no doubt the Government's Scrappage Scheme, along with our own trade-in scheme, has given the UK automotive industry a boost.
'As Britain's biggest car builder, we hope that by extending our scheme we can sustain these positive results and continue to support the British economy.
