Nissan Leaf prices rise by 2k

Nissan has increased the price of its all-electric Nissan Leaf small family car by 2000 because of a further shift in the exchange rate with the Yen.
The increase in price from March 1 means the battery-powered Leaf now costs 25,990 after the Government's incentive of 5000 has been taken into account.
Nissan says the Pound has depreciated by 13.4% against the Yen since the car was price last year and that the 2000 increase is a 6% rise for consumers.
Any orders placed before March 1 will be honoured at the original price.
Other Nissan models built in Japan have been affected Nissan X-Trail prices are up by 2.8%, for instance - but the Leaf rise is the most substantial. The company has also already decided to stop importing the Cube because of exchange rate difficulties.
The Nissan Leaf will be built at the company's Sunderland plant from 2013 and so its price should then be more protected from fluctuations in the exchange rate with the Yen.
