The Acenta trim’s standard infotainment is disappointing: you get a small readout and no DAB radio or sat-nav. Unlike the other two you can’t link up your smartphone to use that as your sat-nav, either. We’d suggest the optional (£750) upgrade that adds the sat-nav and DAB functions, plus a 7.0in touchscreen and rear-view camera; the large icons and snappy menus work well.

While the Ateca comes with a sharp, 8.0in touchscreen as standard and easily navigable menus, you still have to pay extra for a DAB radio and sat-nav. That said, it comes with a smartphone interface that means you can use your phone’s sat-nav and internet radio via the screen. Other features include an optional wireless phone charger and 10-speaker sound system upgrade (£320) for audiophiles.

The Mokka shames the other two with its feature-laden infotainment. Sat-nav, a DAB radio, 4G wi-fi, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (to sync your smartphone to the 7.0in touchscreen) are all standard. You also get OnStar, Vauxhall’s concierge service; this puts you through to an adviser who can help with a multitude of services, such as finding an address and then programming it into your sat-nav remotely.
