Our choice: buy new
While we're sorely tempted by the used BMW 5 Series Touring, it's hard to ignore the significant saving offered on the Audi A4 Allroad. Its chunky look is a halfway-house between a traditional estate and an SUV, and its standard four-wheel drive means that no matter where your weekend takes you, it will be able to get you there.
And then there's interior quality, because nothing else can match the A4 Allroad at this price point. And while BMW's iDrive infotainment system is marginally more impressive, Audi's MMI set-up is still easy to use on the move and looks impressive.
So, whether you're buying on finance or outright, our recommendation in this instance is to buy new.
