8 June 2021 – Style with substance
It’s always nice to have a car that you want to take a lingering look at as you walk away, but far more important is what it’s like on the inside, and here the Peugeot 2008 is a real hit.
No such trouble with the 2008, whose seats are big enough, well shaped and supportive. The kids are happy, too; while the thick rear pillars that give quite a big blind spot when reversing mean it’s fairly dark in the back it’s very roomy and there are two all-important charging points. Indeed, their only gripe is the lack of a central armrest.
Some of the buttons are less responsive than I’d like – not least the starter, which regularly tells me ‘Key not detected’ – but the interior feels chic, with different choices for the ambient lighting and modern, cheerful design.
