Peugeot is aiming its latest 'van with windows', the Bipper Tepee, at busy urban families.
The Bipper Tepee's compact size, big door mirrors and sliding rear doors should make town driving, and parking, simple.
Small on the outside; big on the inside
The car/van is just short of 4m long and has a tight turning circle of 9.95m, while its sliding side doors make getting in and out easy even in cramped parking spaces.
With the seats in place, there are 356 litres of storage space in the rear, and this can be extended to 884 litres when the rear bench seat is folded. Removing the rear bench altogether extends the load area to 2.5m3.
The outer rear seats are fitted with ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
Two engines
Buyers can choose between a 75bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 70bhp 1.4 diesel.
The diesel version has carbon dioxide emissions of 119g/km, putting it in the 35 band for road tax. Average fuel economy is 62.8mpg
The petrol engine is available with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel is offered with a choice of manual or electronic manual 'boxes.
All versions are in group 2 for insurance, apart from the 1.4 petrol Outdoor model, which is in group 3.
Two trim levels
The Bipper Teepee is available in S or Outdoor trims. All cars have a radio and a CD player with MP3 compatibility, electric front windows and electrically heated door mirrors.
Outdoor models add air-conditioning, roof bars and front foglights. The suspension is raised by 15mm, and the bodykit is beefier and includes an underbody engine protection plate.
Options include Bluetooth (200), rear parking sensors (200), an alarm (200) and metallic paint (390).
