Porsche 911 Carrera S following Jaguar F-Type R Coupe

Our verdict

The Porsche 911 is quite simply the better sports car. It’s faster down the straights and through the corners, while being more entertaining when you want it to be and just as hassle-free to live with the rest of the time.

Yes, the new turbo engine doesn’t sound quite as frenetic as the one it replaces, but it brings better performance and lower CO2 emissions – and that’s a pretty good trade-off. Mind you, we think you’d have a similar amount of fun in the significantly cheaper and less ballistically quick Carrera.
