This is the Nissan Qashqai Premier Limited Edition, a special launch model designed to celebrate the arrival of the latest generation of the popular small SUV.

The Premier Limited Edition is based on the range-topping Qashqai Tekna, but it adds a number of extra features, including special part-leather and Alcantara trim, a dark roof liner, dark carpets, chrome finish on the door sills, and Premier-branded kick plates. Equipment 'inherited' from the Tekna spec includes 19-inch alloy wheels, bi-LED headlights, roof rails, heated front seats and Nissan's latest navigation and infotainment system.

The mechanical set-up is a 1.6 dCi engine producing 128bhp, transmitted through a six-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel drive. The government fuel economy average for the Premier Limited Edition Qashqai is 57.6mpg and it emits 129g/km of CO2.

Nissan says it intends to built just 2007 examples of the car; 290 of those will be available to UK buyers. All examples get a numbered plaque at the base of the dashboard. The Premier Limited Edition will be reserved for existing Nissan customers until the end of 2013.

No price has been announced yet; however, a four-wheel-drive Tekna-spec 1.6 dCi Qashqai costs £27,845, and we'd expect the Premier Limited Edition to carry a similar price tag.
