Saab refreshes 9-3 range

Saab has revised its 9-3, offering a refreshed look, new engines and better efficiency for the saloon, estate, convertible and 9-3X ranges.

All models have new front bumpers and headlights, a redesigned grille and a rear spoiler.

Saab has updated the 9-3's interior too, with a new instrument panel, cabin decor and seat upholstery. There are just two trims now SE and Aero.

There are two new direct-injection petrol engines with 161bhp or 217bhp. Saab says fuel economy and CO2 emissions have been improved by 4%.

The petrol engines join the existing 1.9 diesel that comes in 128bhp, 158bhp and 178bhp variants.

The most-powerful diesel engine has also been tweaked, so that in the estate version it now emits 119g/km of CO2, dropping it down into VED tax band C, which is just 30 per year.

First deliveries of the new cars will be in April, however Saab has yet to reveal prices.
