25 April 2026 – It's the little things...
I’ve been doing some long journeys around the UK in my Skoda Enyaq recently and have been impressed with the levels of comfort, both from the suspension and the seats. The car rides well and absorbs bumps at motorway speeds, and the driver’s seat is well-padded. The standard electrically adjustable lumbar support is easy to alter, even on the move, using the button on the side of the seat, and it enables me to get just the right amount of curvature to stop my back from aching.
It’s also nice to know that my car’s Lounge spec seat trim is made of natural fabrics, including wool rather than anything synthetic. The only feature I’m not totally convinced about is the massage function on my seat. It is good for adding some movement when I can’t stop for a break, but it does feel like a bit of an unnecessary luxury which I'm not sure I would choose again.

Practicality is another quality I value, and the Enyaq has it in spades. Skoda’s Simply Clever slogan relates to a brand philosophy that dates back to the 1920s, when the company designed a vehicle that could be transformed from a passenger car to a flatbed truck. These days it involves adding a number of small, eminently sensible items to all models for free.
Apparently, the Enyaq has more than 30 of these little innovations, so I spent some time trying to spot as many as I could. I started with the two best-known items: the umbrella that’s tucked away inside the driver’s door panel and the ice scraper that fits into a slot on the inside of the tailgate. Then I had a quick look around the interior and found a removable glasses case that sits at the bottom of the centre console storage compartment.

Further back there are two pop-out bottle holders in the storage compartment in front of the rear seats, and two pockets in each of the front seat backs instead of the usual one. There’s also quite a few innovations in the boot, including two small plastic dividers that can be stuck to the boot floor with velcro so you can organise belongings and a QR code that provides a link to a video guide on how to make best use of the car’s hooks, cargo nets and adjustable boot floor.
As the saying goes, it’s the little things in life…
