Skoda extends cash incentive

Skoda has revealed a new range of deals, including an increase in the value of scrappage incentives being offered on diesel Octavias and an extension of its 'no VAT' offer.

Until now, the 1.6 TDI Octavia was excluded from the 3500 scrappage incentive that Skoda was offering on the rest of the range - buyers could get only 2000 off.

3500 scrappage incentive extended
However, the full incentive will now be offered with the diesel engine, meaning that the cost of a 1.6 TDI Octavia S hatchback falls from 14,965 to 11,465 when bought with a car that qualifies under the scrappage scheme.

Skoda says that around 1100 Octavias have already been bought through the scrappage scheme, and the company reckons that the cheaper 1.6 TDI will prove popular because its emissions of 119g/km mean it qualifies for 35 road tax.

VAT deal extended
Skoda is also extending its 'no VAT' price reduction until the end of January 2010 meaning that it will still be offered after the VAT rate returns to 17.5%.

The offer is a price reduction equivalent to the value of VAT paid on a full-price purchase and is available on all Fabia, Octavia and Roomster models.
