The Skoda Rapid Spaceback might be cheap, well equipped and spacious, but is far from the best in terms of handling and interior quality

Skoda Rapid Spaceback 1.0 TSI 110

Should I buy one?

The Skoda Rapid Spaceback is well equipped and cheap, and not just its list price. With this engine it starts at just Β£16,345 - Β£2000 less than the equivalent Octavia - while on a PCP finance deal an equivalent Astra will set you back Β£60 more, and a Focus is another Β£40 on top of that.

We’d still take the more accomplished Octavia over the Rapid every time, but if budget is your absolute priority, then test drive the Rapid back-to-back with its aforementioned, more polished rivals, to see if those rougher edges are worth the savings.
