After a shaky start, DAB looks to be taking off in a big way.

Last year, 10 new services were licenced for broadcast, and more car manufacturers are offering digital stereos.

Andy Kerr, editor of What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision Ultimate Guide, says: 'If you plan to keep your next car for a while, it's worth looking at DAB options when buying.

'Unlike TV, however, there's no need to worry about analogue signals being switched off just yet.'

Our map shows the UK coverage of digital radio, and demonstrates that almost 90% of the UK can already pick up a DAB signal.
