Toyota's iQ from 9495

The Toyota iQ city car will cost from 9495.

That makes it considerably more expensive than Toyota's other city car, the Aygo, which starts from 7000, rising to 8895 for the top-spec model.

The iQ us powered by a 67bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine, which averages 65.7mpg and emits 99g/km of carbon dioxide, and is available with a five-speed manual gearbox or an automatic unit.

The car is available in two trim levels, iQ and iQ2.

iQ has 15-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable door mirrors, air-conditioning and a six-speaker stereo with an auxiliary socket.

iQ2 has high-gloss alloys, front fog lamps, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an automatic entry and start system, and climate control.

Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control and traction control. Nine airbags are fitted, including rear window airbags, which are being fitted to a car for the first time.

Buyers who order an iQ before March 2009 will also get free metallic paint.
