More than 15,000 people took the JD Power survey in 2014. They rated their cars on everything from the buying experience to reliability. 109 models got enough responses to be included and 26 manufacturers were considered in the manufacturer league table.
Here's our pick of the winners from the small MPV, MPV, SUV and large SUV classes:
The Kia Venga came 16th= overall and won the Small MPV category. Owners find their cars easy to get into and out of and that the boot is a decent size. Kia dealers also offer a good service which keeps owners happy. This 1.4 CRDi Ecodynamics 1 is on an 11-plate and has covered 24,512 miles. It's yours for £7295.
Lexus RX - Large SUV class winner
For the second year running, the Lexus RX is the highest-ranking large SUV. It's comfortable and refined and the plush cabin is a pleasant place to be. Lexus dealers offer a great service and Lexus as a brand came 1st= in the manufacturer league. This RX450h SE-I is on an 11-plate and has done 21,000 miles. It comes with leather seats, cruise control, climate control and sat-nav, and is on the market for £29,475.
The Skoda Yeti Comes in at an impressive number three overall and wins the SUV class. Owners like the spacious cabin, raised driving position, fuel economy and reliability. This '11/60 1.2 TSI S comes with air-conditioning and alloy wheels and has done 15,500 miles. It's a bargain at £10,949.
Volkswagen Touran - MPV class winner
The winning MPV is the VW Touran. That's a big improvement on 2013 when the Touran came 94th= and was the lowest-ranking MPV. Owners love the practicality on offer. It's got a big boot and each of the seven seats can be adjusted individually. This 11-plate 1.6 TDI 105 S has 16,000 miles on the clock and is on sale for £11,488.
