Used Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrofoglio vs BMW M3

Our Verdict

Whichever way you go here you’ll end up with a car that is immense fun to drive and deeply rewarding: it’s a wonderful choice to have to make. The M3 remains an immensely capable sports saloon, delivering all the performance and cornering grip you could ever hope for. It’s a five-star sports car, no question, with an amazing turn of speed and a competence in every area that will give a keen driver years of pleasure.

Yet the Giulia, amazingly, is even better. It’s not only more powerful but also, crucially, even more fun and engaging to drive. The engine delivers its stunning performance with such vigour, and the steering is so delightfully responsive, that you can’t help but be won over by this car’s charms. True, its interior isn’t quite as practical or as high in quality as the Beemer’s, but the Giulia does what the M3 can’t: it makes you smile on your commute as much as on a race track. Add in the fact it’s more comfortable and more refined in everyday use and its victory here is pretty much assured.
