17 May 2018 – Snow and servicing

After 12,000 miles and a year on the road, our XC60 has had its first service. It was a painless affair, carried out at our local dealership, MKG3000 in Twickenham, and the XC60 came through with flying colours.

This service is something that would normally have been done as part of the comprehensive Volvo Selekt package before we picked the car up, but it was deliberately left off so that we could experience the servicing set-up first hand. By chance, it also gave us the opportunity to set right a couple of paintwork and trim blemishes caused by someone rather too enthusiastically loading the car with paving slabs.

In other news, the XC60 has successfully tackled snow. Our car may only be front-wheel drive, rather than the full-fat four-wheel drive some XC60s are, but this particular driver from Surrey, in a perpetual hurry, emerged from a flurry without any undue worry. And you can't say fairer than that.
