This is the Vauxhall VXR8 Tourer, which joins the saloon and Maloo pick-up in the VXR8 range.
Powered by a 425bhp 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine, the VXR8 Tourer gets from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds and reaches a limited top speed of 155mph.
The rear-wheel-drive Tourer is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. Both come with a mechanical limited-slip differential and launch control as standard.
The Tourer is the fastest Vauxhall estate ever. This performance doesn't detract from its load-lugging capabilities, though. With the seats up, the boot offers 895 litres of space the roomiest of any estate car on sale. With the rear seats folded, that grows to a cavernous 2000 litres.
Standard specification includes leather sports seats, Bluetooth, 20-inch alloy wheels and a touch-screen infotainment system.
The VXR8 Tourer starts at 49,500. That's around 5000 less than the Audi S6 Avant, which offers similar performance, but in a more upmarket package.
