The cars get a redesigned front end with a wider grille, rectangular daylight running lights and more chrome or matte silver detailing.
They also get refreshed interiors, with the S60, V60 and XC60 offering new wood inlays, more metal detailing and new upholstery colours. The XC70 gets new skidplates and more off-road protection.
An upgraded version of Volvo's Sensus Connected Touch infotainment system has also been announced. The seven-inch display screen is now touch-sensitive and it can be operated even if youre wearing gloves. Volvo says the new system can even be retro-fitted to models that have the original system, including the V40 hatchback.
While the car is stationary stationary, the infotainment system can connect to the internet through a dongle or your mobile phone. It can then connect to internet radio or streaming sites such as Spotify while on the move. All models with the Sensus system will also now come with DAB digital radio as standard, while Bluetooth is available across all models apart from the XC90.
Other new options on the six cars include a heated steering wheel with heated paddles, automatically dimming and cornering headlights, plus a quick de-ice windscreen.
The cars' redesign also improves efficiency and cuts CO2 emissions. The manual S60 D2 113bhp diesel has its emissions cut from 114g/km to 103g/km, while its average economy goes up to 70.6mpg. The auto version does 68.9mpg and emits 107g/km of CO2.
V60 D2 emissions fall to as low as 108g/km, with average economy of 68.9mpg, while the XC60 161bhp D4 and 212bhp D5 manuals both do 53.3mpg with emissions of 139g/km.
The S80 D3 and D4 engines (with 134bhp and 161bhp respectively) will do average economy of 57.6mpg and emit 129g/km CO2.
All six of the face-lifted cars will be available in late June or early July. Prices have increased on all models, but by no more than 1.5% in each case to reflect the extra equipment now offered.
