It’s fair to say that cars have improved in virtually every way since the day in 1973 when What Car? was first published.
However, the gap between the best and the worst models remains as large as ever in most classes, making the annual What Car? Car of the Year Awards as important as ever.
Presented at a packed event at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in central London on Thursday evening, the awards are the culmination of 12 months of rigorous testing, during which we drove hundreds of new and updated models both on the road and at our private test track.
