Review

Although the Nissan Qashqai is no longer our favourite family SUV, it remains a sound proposition. If you choose wisely it's one of the more comfortable cars in the class, and the 1.3 DIG-T 140 petrol engine also impresses. The Seat Ateca and Skoda Karoq are roomier and better to drive, though.

Trim: Tekna

Tekna brings part-leather (heated front) seats, with power adjustment on the driver's side, LED headlights, a self-parking system, a heated windscreen, a BOSE sound system and adaptive cruise control. It’s really expensive, though, and comes with 19in wheels that ruin ride comfort.

Engine: 1.7 dCi

This range-topping diesel engine is much punchier than 1.5 dCi but also much more expensive. Only really worth considering if you plan on towing.
