One of the very best small cars, standing out for ride comfort, interior quality and hushed cruising manners. The 1.2 Puretech 100 engine is also punchy and doesn't drink much fuel. It isn't cheap to buy, though, and rivals such as the Ford Fiesta are much more fun to drive.get the best price

GT-Line's useful additions include an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, adaptive LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Other than that, it's just further cosmetic tweaks inside and out.

Has even more low rev punch than the Puretech 100 petrol for more effortless performance. However, it's more expensive to buy and, well, diesel isn't very fashionable at the moment.
