The model
Read full reviewStylish, practical and good to drive, the well-equipped Peugeot 3008 is one of the best family SUVs you can buy. Go for the entry-level 1.2 PureTech engine unless you're a company car driver; a Plug-in Hybrid model will offer lower monthly BIK payments. There are better PHEV SUVs out there, though, and the Skoda Karoq is an even more practical alternative to regular models.

See full equipmentWe reckon mid-spec Allure trim is worth the extra, though. It adds power-folding door mirrors, a 10.in touchscreen infotainment system with sat nav, 18in alloys and a slightly posher interior. You also get extra safety including blind spot monitoring.
The engine
