Review

Stylish, practical and good to drive, the well-equipped Peugeot 3008 is one of the best family SUVs you can buy. Go for the entry-level 1.2 PureTech engine unless you're a company car driver, in which case the Hybrid versions are worth considering.

Trim: GT Line Premium

This high-end trim adds keyless entry and start, a 230v power socket, driver’s seat massage function and a gesture controlled electric tailgate. Unfortunately, it also adds a head room-munching panoramic sunroof that is best avoided if you carry tall passengers.

Engine: 1.6 PureTech 180

Should you want a bit more pace in your 3008, this auto-only 179bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine seems a tempting choice. It feels pleasingly brisk on the road but you have to work it pretty hard for it to deliver its performance. A high list price also puts us off.
