Review

The Peugeot 308 offers a lot of what family car buyers are looking for, including low running costs, a decent driving style and a comfortable interior. Rivals offer more space and keener handling, though.

Range-topping GT Premium cars come with 18in alloy wheels, a premium Focal stereo system and an improved driver’s seat with a massage function and heating. You also get a self-parking system, but GT Premium is really too expensive to recommend.

Our recommended choice for private buyers, offering punchy acceleration and lively performance, with low running costs to boot. No wonder it’s expected to be the biggest seller in the UK.
