Peugeot 5008 Estate 1.2 PureTech Allure 5dr
The image may be different to the version you have selectedThe 5008 is stylish, practical and good to drive. It's also relatively affordable to run, especially if you go for the peppy, but still efficient and frugal, 1.2 Puretech 130 petrol. If you're not bothered about seven seats and fancy something a little better equipped then the Mazda CX-5 is well worth considering, but otherwise, for our money the 5008 is one of the best seven-seat SUVs you can buy.

AllureYou get everything that the Active model gets, plus sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, privacy glass, driver’s seat lumbar adjustment, rear picnic tables, rear window blinds and 18in alloy wheels. You also get more safety features, including a driver attention indicator, lane assist, blindspot warning, auto high beams and an SOS emergency response feature. It's our pick of the range but we’d suggest adding the optional package that includes keyless entry and start along with a gesture-controlled, powered tailgate.
Engine:
1.2 PureTechYou might think that the entry-level 129bhp 1.2-litre engine would be too small to power a seven-seat SUV, but it’s actually surprisingly peppy, eager to rev, and plenty good enough to meet most people's performance aspirations. It’s frugal, managing 36mpg in our True MPG real-world economy test, quiet and available with a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic gearboxes.
