The Peugeot 5008 is stylish, practical, good to drive and one of our favourite large SUVs. It's relatively affordable to buy and run, especially if you go for the entry-level 1.2-litre Puretech 130 petrol engine. If you need even more space the Kia Sorento is an even better bet.
The 129bhp 1.5-litre is the better-value diesel. It isn't flat-out fast (0-62mph takes 11.1sec) but offers solid mid-range performance that hauls you along effortlessly. It'll also give you the best fuel economy in the 5008 range and is available with a choice of a manual or automatic gearbox.
