Review

The Peugeot 5008 is stylish, practical, good to drive and one of our favourite large SUVs. It's relatively affordable to buy and run, especially if you go for the entry-level 1.2-litre Puretech 130 petrol engine. If you need even more space the Kia Sorento is an even better bet.

This trim adds (over and above Allure Premium) adaptive cruise control with steering assist, Alcantara and leather seat trim, rear USB ports, a black roof (and other black styling details) and full LED headlights.

The 129bhp 1.5-litre is the better-value diesel. It isn't flat-out fast (0-62mph takes 11.1sec) but offers solid mid-range performance that hauls you along effortlessly. It'll also give you the best fuel economy in the 5008 range and is available with a choice of a manual or automatic gearbox.
