The Peugeot 5008 is stylish, practical, good to drive and our favourite large SUV. It's relatively affordable to run, especially if you go for the entry-level 1.2-litre Puretech 130 petrol engine. If you regularly carry around lots of people and luggage, the more powerful engines are also worth a look.get the best price
Trim: GT Line Premium
Adds over the GT Line heated front seats, massaging driver's seat, keyless entry and start, a powered gesture-controlled tailgate, a panoramic glass sunroof and 19in alloy wheels. However, it's pricey, the panoramic roof reduces rear head room heavily and the 19in wheels don’t do the ride any favours.
Engine: 1.6 PureTech 180
This more powerful 179bhp 1.6-litre petrol comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox only. It adds a good slug of extra oomph over the 1.2 Puretech 130 (dropping the 0-62mph time to just 9.4sec), but the additional costs to buy and run it tip us into sticking with the 1.2 as the engine of choice.
