As with the regular Cayenne, the biggest strengths of the Coupé are its handling and performance. In fact, the GTS, which is the sweet-spot in the range, offers about as much fun as you can have with a car that's this tall and heavy. The standard model comes with a 12.0in infotainment screen fitted with sat-nav, a DAB radio and Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring. Other standard features include 19in alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, the Sport Chrono Pack, LED headlights, cruise control, two-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, eight-way electric front seats, part-leather seat trim, heated front seats and an electric tailgate. Even so, you should consider raiding the options list for items such as air suspension, 14-way electric seats with lumbar adjustment, adaptive cruise control and the more impressive sound system.

This plug-in hybrid version of the Cayenne Coupe pairs a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with an electric motor. You can accelerate (gently) up to motorway speeds on electric power alone, and drive for up to 27 miles (at least officially) before the battery is drained and the petrol engine has to cut in. It’s an impressive collaboration, offering zero-emissions driving in the city while still fulfilling Porsche’s sporting brief elsewhere, but grabby brakes and the extra weight of its batteries detract from the driving pleasure. A great option for company car buyers looking to reduce their tax bill, though.
