The Renault 4 is agile around town, and comfortable and quiet at speed. What's more, it offers a competitive range and a smart interior for a very tempting price. Some small electric SUV rivals are more practical, but the Renault 4 is still great value.
The engine
In the UK, every Renault 4 comes with a 52kWh (usable capacity) battery and a 148bhp electric motor. The official range is 241-247 miles depending on the trim level, which is similar to what a lot of its rivals offer. Meanwhile, performance feels nippy off the line and remains more than strong enough up to motorway speeds.
