What’s more, the Puma is a better all-rounder and the Kamiq more comfortable and practical. If you do get one, we recommend the E-Tech Full Hybrid 145 in Techno trim.

See full equipmentIf you can, we’d suggest spending a little extra and upgrading to Techno trim, which adds 18in alloy wheels, automatic high beam, front parking sensors, a rear-view camera and a height-adjustable front passenger seat.
The engine
See full engine specsYou won’t be able to travel far under electric power alone compared with the E-Tech 160 plug-in hybrid, but this version will cope with short bursts at low speeds without needing its engine. Performance is reasonably sprightly in town thanks to its electric motor, but this trails off significantly when the engine takes over to get you up to motorway speeds.
