Good to drive, roomy inside and fairly affordable to own

Trim: Xcellence

Go higher up the trim ladder and Xcellence has an upmarket air with its chrome roof rails and window trims, and adds the convenience of keyless entry and adaptive cruise control.

Engine: 1.6 TDI

This 94bhp diesel doesn’t feel as responsive and sprightly as the petrol engines – indeed, it’s the slowest engine in the line-up – but it will manage fine in town driving and on occasional motorway trips
