The Seat Leon is a good all-rounder if you're looking for a competitively priced family car. Just be aware there are better alternatives available, such as the Ford Focus, Skoda Octavia and VW Golf, which are better in key areas, like ride quality and practicality.
get the best priceTrim: Cupra
The Cupra is the sporty, performance trim and is only offered with the powerful, turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. Building on XCELLENCE, trim it adds adaptive dampers and a limited slip differential and 19in alloy wheels, while on the inside there's a leather sports steering wheel, part-Alcantara sports seats with embossed Cupra logos, alloy pedals and ambient LED lighting. It also features plenty of copper highlights to set it apart from the lesser Leons.
Engine: 2.0 TSI 290
The Leon Cupra hatchback’s engine produces 286bhp. It feels effortlessly muscular across the rev range, though, and takes you from 0-62mph in 6.0sec dead. As the hatchback only has two driven wheels, do be aware it struggles to put its power down in the wet. We reckon there are much better hot hatch alternatives, such as the Renault Megane RS and Honda Civic Type R.
