The model
Read full reviewThere is a lot to like about the Seat Tarraco. It’s one of the better cars in the class to drive if you like something that feels a bit sporty, it's really generously equipped and it has a very good safety rating, if not the best in the class. But it isn’t as versatile as the very best large SUVs both in terms of space in its rear-most seats and its boot. There are cheaper alternatives, for private buyers and company car users alike.

See full equipmentExpensive but adds 19in wheels (that make the ride firm), Alcantara seat trim, heated front and rear seats and a rear-view camera.
The engine
See full engine specsThis 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol is our pick of the range and great most of the time, feeling more than sufficient around town and when tackling longer jaunts along motorways. 0-62mph takes 9.9sec for the six-speed manual (9.5sec if you opt for the dual-clutch automatic ’box), which is roughly the same as the Kia Sorento Hybrid and Peugeot 5008 1.2 Puretech 130, and it only labours a little if the car's completely rammed to the rafters with people and luggage.
