What Car? says...

Looks familiar? No, you’re not going mad; the Citigo may wear a Skoda badge, but it’s fundamentally the same car as the Seat Mii and Volkswagen Up. As you’d expect from the Czech firm, it’s cheaper to buy than both of its siblings.

Unlike rivals such as the Hyundai i10 and Renault Twingo, the Citigo is available in three as well as five-door form, and there’s even an automatic gearbox if you don't want the hassle of doing the arm work yourself.

There’s a choice of two 1.0-litre petrol engines and a number of trim levels that range from sparse to pretty well appointed. Handily, you can get automatic city braking as an option, too.

Read on over the next few pages for our in-depth impressions of the Citigo and get our advice on which versions make the most sense for you.

And if you decide this is the car for you, head over to our new car deals page – you could save a decent amount without the hassle of haggling.
