Skoda Kamiq 1.5 TSI SE 5dr DSG Review

The model
Read full reviewThe Skoda Kamiq is a breath of fresh air in the small SUV class. It’s bigger, classier inside and more comfortable than the Seat Arona and VW T-Cross, and has some really clever features to help take the stresses out of modern family life. Overall, we prefer the nimbler Ford Puma, but that shouldn't stop the Kamiq featuring high up on your shopping list.
The trim
See full equipmentFor something a little plusher than the S go for our recommendation, SE. It gives you 17in alloy wheels, cruise control, auto lights and wipers, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, rear parking sensors, front-seat lumbar adjustment, a front centre armrest, extra storage and a handy umbrella in the front door. You also get an 8.0in infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included. It's worth adding an adjustable boot floor, the Simply Clever Pack, and perhaps a rear-view camera.
The engine
See full engine specsThe Kamiq's most expensive petrol engine is worth a look if you want a bit more zip away from the lights (0-62mph takes just 8.3sec), or if you regularly carry a full load of passengers or luggage. It's also the smoothest engine in the range, and shouldn't cost you much more than the smaller petrols in fuel. Impressively, it actually emits less CO2 than the 1.0 TSI 115.
