The practical Skoda Kodiaq is one of the very best seven-seat SUVs, as well as one of the most affordable

Trim: vRS

You get a decent amount of kit with the vRS including adaptive dampers, front and rear parking sensors, sat nav, 20in alloy wheels, Virtual Cockpit, LED lights front and rear, vRS styling and LED lights front and rear. Every Kodiaq vRS also gets a 237bhp diesel engine, an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive.

Engine: 2.0 BiTDI 239

The only engine offered in the vRS has plenty of low-rev grunt for effortless pace, but never feels fast flat out, with its 0-62mph time of 7.0sec. With the special exhaust actuator switched on it sounds like a big V8 engine, though.
