What Car? says...

There are plenty of luxury seven-seat SUVs to choose from if you've got deep pockets, but what if you're looking for something more reasonably priced? Well, the Skoda Kodiaq should definitely be on your shortlist; its attractive starting price could be just the ticket for big families looking for value for money.

It's actually Skoda's first-ever seven-seat car and its first large SUV. The Kodiaq shares some of its underpinnings with other Volkswagen Group SUVs, including the Seat Ateca and Volkswagen Tiguan, but it’s more of a rival to the larger Nissan X-Trail in terms of size at the lower end of its price scale. If you’re tempted by the plusher, more powerful and pricier versions, you might also be considering models such as the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe or even Land Rover's Discovery Sport.
