The model
Read full reviewThe Skoda Octavia Estate offers a vast boot considering its size, and generous space for occupants. However, it's far more than just a big box on wheels; its relatively plush interior, generally cosseting ride and frugal engines make it a fantastic car for covering big distances in. Despite the iV’s reduced luggage capacity, it’s big in the back by plug-in hybrid standards, has a strong, smooth engine and gearbox, and makes brilliant financial sense for company car users.

See full equipmentSE First Edition is reasonably well equipped, with 16in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, auto lights and wipers, heated door mirrors, keyless start and even an umbrella in the door. However, we’d advise that you make the small jump up to SE Technology as it gets loads more equipment without costing loads more.
The engine
See full engine specsOur pick of the range is the excellent 148bhp 1.5 TSI 150 petrol. You need to rev it harder than the diesel 2.0 TDI 150 at times but when you do it's even brisker (0-62mph takes just 8.5sec). It's also quieter and costs a whole lot less, and should still manage decent fuel economy, too.
