The model
Read full reviewThe Skoda Superb Estate is pretty comfortable, well equipped, great value for money and one of the roomiest modes of transport going. If you can forego a premium German or Sweedish badge, it's a spankingly good all-round estate car.

See full equipmentRange-topping Laurin & Klement effectively comes with all the options boxes ticked, so you get luxuries such as Dynamic Chassis Control (which we discussed earlier in the ride section), virtual dials, a rearview camera, a park assist feature, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, rear climate control, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, and more powerful Canton sound system.
The engine
See full engine specsThe PHEV is highly recommendable. This uses an 85kW electric motor paired with a 1.4-litre petrol engine for a total power output of 215bhp, and it's one of the quicker versions of the Superb (0-62mph takes 7.8sec). It also has an official electric-only range of 35 miles, can be charged in 5 hours from a three-pin plug (3.5hrs from a home wall box) and has CO2 emissions of just 38g/km – that means very low company car tax.
