A used Skoda Superb Estate takes pretty much everything in its stride. It's comfortable, classy and incredibly spacious. In diesel-engined form it's economical, while the petrol-engined cars are smoother. You'll have no problem fitting all the family clutter in, and even six-footers can comfortably stretch out in the rear seats.
The trim
In addition to the SE Technology's already generous equipment list, the SE L benefits from LED matrix headlights, ventilated front seats with a massage function and an electrically operated boot. You can also option adaptive suspension.
The engine
This 148bhp TDI is the pick of the engines. It comes with an automatic gearbox and is a great performer with enough low-end oomph for ferrying around people, luggage, or towing a caravan. 0-62mph takes 9.2sec and officially it'll average nearly 60mpg.
