Review

The Skoda Superb Estate is pretty comfortable, well equipped, great value for money and one of the roomiest modes of transport going. If you can forego a premium German or Sweedish badge, it's a spankingly good all-round estate car.

Trim: Laurin + Klement

The bells and whistles model adds (over the SE L trim) a 10.3in digital instrument screen, 18in alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, rear climate control, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, a rear-view camera, park assist, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, a 9.2in infotainment screen and on-board Wi-Fi.

Engine: 2.0 TSI 272

This turns the Superb Estate into a real wolf in sheep’s clothing that looks unassuming from the outside but has enough pace (0-62mph in 5.7sec) to keep up with a BMW 340i Touring. It’s very smooth and comes with four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox, but running costs are quite high. There's no manual gearbox option available.
