Read full reviewThe Ssangyong Korando gets closer to its rivals than ever before in terms of its driving experience. It's also very practical and comes with lots of safety features, but it's still outclassed by the best when it comes to comfort, pace and running costs. It's not actually that cheap when you move up to the models that have the equipment most people are looking for. The trim
See full equipmentVentura trim adds 18in alloys wheels, part-faux leather upholstery, a better infotainment system with an 8.0in touchscreen, digital instruments, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. It makes the most sense when balancing costs and kit.
The engine
See full engine specsIt’s 161bhp will get you up to motorway speeds, but takes a little while and you have to plant your foot firmly on the accelerator before it really comes to life. Other rivals – the Skoda Karoq and Seat Ateca – offer a wider range of significantly more impressive petrol engines, most of which are far quicker and more efficient. Adding the automatic gearbox makes it slower still and it’s not very responsive.
