The Tesla Model Y is fast, has a long range between charges and is very practical. There are quieter and more comfortable alternatives, but if you need to travel long distances in one go and will regularly take advantage of Tesla's Supercharger network then it's a great buy. We reckon the Long Range makes most sense, but the cheaper RWD is also worth a look.

All versions of the Model Y come with plenty of luxuries, including climate control, adaptive cruise control, faux-leather seats (heated in the front and back), an electric tailgate and keyless entry via an app on your smartphone. There isn’t much on the options list. Indeed, apart from metallic paint and different alloy wheel designs, the only options are extra autonomous driving functions.

This entry-level version of the Model Y is the cheapest version by a big margin, can do 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and, officially at least, do 283 miles on a full battery charge.
