Genuinely baffled by the 3 review. It seems like WhatCar have completely missed the point of the GT86. I've had the car for nearly a month now, and have had nothing short of a wonderful experience. The car looks brilliant, a real head turner. And inside, it may not be Audi levels of quality, but there are plenty of soft touch materials, and the layout is fantastic, and there is excellent attention to detail, especially the padding around the knees of the driver. This plus the perfect driving position allows for a racing car like feel. As for driving, nothing I've driven has the balance of grip, feel and control on the edge. The steering is direct, accurate and full of feel. The chassis itself is wonderful, no body roll, a communicative but not uncomfortable ride lead to a sensational driving experience. Day to day the car is fine, my commute is mostly motorway driving, and never do I feel uncomfortable due to the supple ride. The only thing that could be improved upon is the low range torque. The engine does need to be revved, but it loves doing so, the noise is incredible. I am achieving close to 40 mpg as well, so I can't really complain. This is the ultimate drivers' car. It is a near perfect drive, sensational value for money and a joy to live with. 5 all the way.
