We bought this car, as we have driven Toyotas for years and my wife wanted something small and economical to ferry her mother around town. After owning for some six or seven months I am quite disappointed. Prior to this car we had a 13 year old Yaris (1.0 GS) that we had been highly satisfied with, up to 66mpg. We wrongly thought, buying a new iQ, the economy would be even better with a smaller and newer car. How wrong we were, we struggle to get more than 33-34 mpg out of our automatic version. Consulting Toyota hasn't really helped, we have actually been told this is typical of the automatics. We recently had a puncture, which was repaired temporarily (still leaking) and we had to wait FIVE DAYS for a new tyre. When questioned, Toyota said they were an 'odd size tyre and hard to get hold of'. I wish this had been on the brochure too. The carpets inside are held in place by four very flimsy plastic clips, which, if you catch them wrongly break very easily. Two of ours are broken already. When we asked Toyota to supply two replacements we are told we have to buy a full set of mats! Absolutely ridiculous, we have been promised a new set of mats as a 'goodwill gesture', this was around six weeks ago - we have heard nothing. All good things come to an end, I have over the years been a staunch ambassador for Toyota but now I fear they are going the same way as others.
