Review

The Vauxhall Corsa is keenly priced if you choose carefully, but it's outclassed by newer rivals in most other areas. The Volkswagen Polo and Seat Ibiza are the most rounded small cars on the market, but if you want something that's great fun to drive, it's also worth considering the Ford Fiesta.

Trim: Griffin

This limited-edition trim is seriously well priced and well worth a look. The only drawback? It isn't available with our favourite 1.4 Turbo 100 engine.

Engine: 1.4 [75]

This entry-level 1.4 petrol engine lacks a turbocharger, so needs working very hard. Only consider it if you barely leave the city, but best avoided altogether.
